Angel-a is a study of the human figure. My first sculpture teacher, Tom Bass, taught that the best way to learn about the language of sculpture, which for him was the language of form, is through the human body.

I felt this study was particularly successful and so cast her in bronze. Angel-a is contemplative and working through some turmoil of the heart. She is named after the model, a dancer, who sat for the piece. The title also references Luc Besson's 2005 romantic fantasy film "Angel-A" - a film in which an angel falls in love with a rogue earthling.

Angel-a is an edition of six.  One edition has been sold to date.
